31 High Street, Sandridge, Hertfordshire, AL4 9DD
The Green Man is a traditional village local at the heart of Sandridge, run by landlord Martin and his welcoming team. Pride of place goes to the tap room — a glass-fronted showcase of cask ales served straight from the cask — featuring rotating guests like Side Pocket and Atlantic Pale Ale. Food leans heavily traditional: sandwiches, pies, beer-battered cod, and a stone-baked pizza offering on Thursday–Saturday evenings. Sunday brings home-cooked roasts (October–May) or BBQs (June–September). The pub hosts quiz nights (Mondays), poker (Wednesdays), and live music weekends. A separate conservatory accommodates private functions and smaller gatherings, while the heated marquee (the "Green House") caters to larger parties. Perched on the edge of Woodland Trust's Heartwood Forest, it's a genuine community hub with real character.
